Often described as a genius, he is most lauded for his Surrey country houses, war memorials and his masterplan for Imperial New Delhi. High above the ancient woodlands of the Teign Gorge stands Castle Drogo. Inspired by the rugged Dartmoor tors that surround it, the castle was designed and built by renowned 20th-century architect Sir Edwin Lutyens.

Set in exquisitely beautiful Devon countryside, this very unusual granite structure is in the last stages of Today, my wife and I had a wonderful visit to Castle Drogo.
